He has no understanding of customer service, and completely ignored my wishes. In fact rather than call me to determine whether there was a miscommunication, he actually appraised a wooden hanger. Yes a wooden hanger! Then he refused to allow me to review the appraisal before it was finalized ( despite the absence of anyu contractuala provision). I guess I woulsd do the sam if I had appraised a hanger. WE had an agreement for him to inventory and photograph some items i my home and to ethen meet to discuss what was worth appraising. The next thing I know he sends me a bill saying the appraisal was done. He refused to allow me to review it to see what he had appraised. The invoice actually said he appraised rugs and furs, despite not being asked to appraise any such things. So you can understand my confusion. Yet still, he would not let me review it. So. my advice is to get everything in writing with this guy.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/7182786342778107206/8808875142798738099/comments/default/1074418519118288545'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/7182786342778107206/8808875142798738099/comments/default/1074418519118288545'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://chicagoappraisers.blogspot.com/2008/08/dos-and-donts-when-choosing-fine-art.html?showComment=1223936340000#c1074418519118288545' title=''/><author><name>Thomas</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/13316595435814646051</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://chicagoappraisers.blogspot.com/2008/08/dos-and-donts-when-choosing-fine-art.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7182786342778107206.post-8808875142798738099' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/7182786342778107206/posts/default/8808875142798738099' type='text/html'/></entry></feed>
